So, when shopping for some glass bowls at Ikea Croydon on monday, I stumbled into the new stationery and party section they have just launched, its before those funny trolly-clip-on-then-hold-on-for-your-life escalators...Being a girl wot loves a party, they had some really impressive and beautiful things. Of course everything fitted into the Ikea motto, "you don't need it, but hell why not buy it, its cheap, its here... you might regret not buying it later... if you remember".
The room had lovely merchandising design, with hanging number gift tags, giant honeycomb pom-pom's ( love 'em), Victorian pointing hand illustrations were scattered across notebooks and wrap... hello we did do that first with the Everything Alice Notebooks.... in fact there were some reminiscence from our products with the use of brown paper and print. The display was sectioned into bright colours of blue, green, pink, yellow and b/w. They had rolls of ribbon, striped and dotted wrapping paper all named in their perfectly weird way; Framstalla ( tissue paper), Sarskild ( gift tags) ... of course.
I spoke to the chatty man who was mounting a giant hand, he explained that they were trialling this range in the Croydon and Edinburgh stores.
